Where It Is

The program originated in west central Illinois. Illinois is home to a host of outdoor resources - over 4 million acres of woodland, 6 million acres of rural grassland, 1.2 million acres of wetlands, 770,000 acres of open water and some of Illinois' most generous populations of wildlife. The program has expanded to over 26 counties.

Although this area is known nationally for the large whitetail deer and bow hunting is the most popular outdoor activity, there are many other non-hunting activities that are available - such as camping, hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching, photography, etc.
